The Silk of the Sea and Sky — A Sunset Etched in Memory
by Junshu Lin
That evening felt like a dream. Moments before the sun dipped below the horizon, the sky erupted in a surreal magenta glow, washing the world in hues of purple and crimson. Every person, every wave, seemed to breathe in that fleeting light.
Above us, beams piercing through the clouds painted the high cirrus into a colossal butterfly, its wings rippling with the wind. The ocean below mirrored the spectacle, its surface turning molten red, smooth as silk under the fading sun.
Standing there, halfway along the historic Maritime Silk Road, I realized: this was where the sea and sky wove themselves into one endless tapestry — a moment too magical to ever fade.
