Carbonate-cemented shells in Estonian phosphorites, from the Toolse deposit
by Sophie Graul, Tallinn University of Technology, Tallinn, Estonia and France
Section of carbonate-cemented shells in Estonian phosphorites, from the Toolse deposit, Lääne-Virumaa district.
Shells are mineralised in CAF-apatite. Those most altered by diagenesis acquire a dark colour and are covered with micro-pyrites, mostly on the laminae that previously held organic matter.
