Glaciers reaching into the sky
In 2021, we hiked to the most isolated parts of Austria, in hopes to find undeterred wildlife, groundhogs and vultures amongst other things. Along the wildlife, we witnessed the unbrittled force of nature in the form of glacial ice and snow in the high heat of summer. However, not only was the glacier in front of us, but its effects even reached into the skys above; its cold updrafts supporting the formation of cirrus clouds aloft the snowy terraces. A truly memorable display of the impact glaciers have on our weather.
