História viva (Living history)
by Djacinto Monteiro dos Santos, Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Lorenza is Aimara, lives in the countryside, and works selling handicrafts made with stone and ceramics next to the archaeological site of Tiwanaku, in Bolivia. Possibly, Lorenza and other Aymaras descend directly from the Tiwanacotas. In the ruins are Kalasasaya temple, the Sun Gate, and the Pachamama monolith. In Lorenza's smile I could see living history.
