A journey above the Blue Mountains
by Tunahan Aykut, Eurasia Institute of Earth Sciences-Istanbul Technical University, Istanbul, Türkiye
Immersed in the ethereal blue haze, the rugged cliffs and deep valleys of the Blue Mountains (New South Wales-Australia) unfold like a mesmerizing tapestry of time. Carved by enduring fluvial erosion, the reflection of the Sun on the Hawkesbury Sandstone formations creates a dazzling scenery that reveals the intricate dance between constructive and destructive forces throughout the geological history. A solitary cable car suspended above bears witness to human curiosity, gracefully suspended in the air, a testament to our ceaseless fascination with the wonders bestowed by nature.
