Mammoth Hot Springs
by Gert Verstraeten, KU Leuven, division of Geography, Leuven, Belgium
Color palette at Mammoth Hot Springs Terraces. A fascinating landscape that is the result of the interaction between internal geodynamic processes, geochemistry, hydrology and the atmosphere creating a unique landform. Very few places on earth are like this. The terraces also contain a variety of biological features, thus generating a special color palette.
