The Aznalcóllar accident was an ecological disaster produced by a dumping of toxic sludge in the Doñana National and Natural Park, in Andalusia (Spain), on April 25th , 1998, caused by the rupture of the Aznalcóllar Mining Raft, owned from the Swedish company Boliden.
Currently, researchers from the Spanish Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC), the universities of Seville, Huelva and Granada and other institutions are conducting studies on the recovery of the affected areas.

El accidente de Aznalcóllar fue un desastre ecológico producido por un vertido de lodos tóxicos en el Parque Nacional y Natural de Doñana, en Andalucía (España), el 25 de abril de 1998, provocado por la rotura de la Balsa Minera de Aznalcóllar, propiedad de la empresa sueca Boliden.
Actualmente, investigadores del Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), las universidades de Sevilla, Huelva y Granada y otras instituciones están realizando estudios sobre la recuperación de las zonas afectadas.
