Former Arch of Kerguelen
Captain James Cook discovered on the 25th of December 1776 the Arch of Kerguelen in a Bay at the northern end of the Kerguelen Islands. After years of erosion only the pillars of the former arch can be seen. In between numerous penguins are living. The bay is truly magical and I got the chance to visit it at the end of the MOBYDICK research cruise.
