Delayed groundwater recharge - Pericnik waterfall
by Cyril Mayaud, Karst Research Institute ZRC SAZU, Postojna, Slovenia
The Pericink waterfall is a two levels waterfall located in the Vrata valley (Triglav national park, Slovenia). During the winter, the waterfall freeze partly or totally and builds several nice ice stalactites and ice drapes. As the soil on the surrounding is all the year totally water saturated, the winter time provides us an interressting view of the groundwater motion and a "delayed groundwater recharge".
