A Thousand Layers of Red

After having lived in the United States for nearly three years, I finally had the chance to visit the appropriately called Grand Canyon. Nearly two billion years of Earth's history is piled on these red-hued layers of rock, making one feel small and humble when staring into the ever-present abyss of otherworldly proportions.
