Caldera de Taburiente
This photo was taken on the field trip "Magmatism" and shows the Caldera de Taburiente on La Palma (Spain). The Taburiente volcano formed between 1.6 and 0.6 Ma on top of a Pliocene seamount. The Caldera de Taburiente is of erosional origin and gives insight into the interior of the young island stage. In the deeper parts of the Caldera, the Pliocene seamount can be found.
