The aftermath of a landslide
The reality of life after a natural hazard: families living in emergency shelters for months, and even years, after a landslide in La Paz, Bolivia, 2011. Many residents wanted to return to the damaged hillslope to rebuild their lives. Space is extremely scare in the steep Bolivian capital city, but poor infrastructure, overcrowding and heavy rains make a dangerous combination.
