        Babies exploring the Sun
by Luděk Vecsey
The egg of the Sun emerged during a cold winter morning in Prague. Oval shape of the Sun is caused by the refraction of sunlight as it travels through Earth's atmosphere. The sunlight refraction also causes that the Sun looks higher in the sky compared to its real altitude. I was watching the beautiful sunrise together with "Babies" (sculptures by Czech artist David Černý) installed on the Žižkov Television Tower.
