Science on the top of the Balkans

by Gergana Georgieva

Mount Musala (2925 m) is the highest peak on Balkan Peninsula. The meteorological station on the peak was opened in 1932. Since then observations have been made without interruption. To help with weather forecasts and warnings of dangerous phenomena, the data transmitted at the top of the air is 24 hours a day (every 3 hours).
Picture was taken from the roof of the meteorological station.
