Cushion Plant Peatland, Estancia Moat, Tierra Del Fuego
Peatland dominated by Astelia pumila, located in southeastern Tierra del Fuego. Deep reaching, aerenchymatic roots of cushion plants such as A. pumila reduce methane production and emission by aeration of the rhizosphere down to > 1.5 m.
